Navratri is one of the important festivals of India, celebrated to worship the Goddess Durga. It is a nine days festival where you will find the different nine forms of the Durga (Goddess) are worshipped.

Many people are doing a fast on this festival and visit temples to get the divine blessings, the people offering prayers to the Goddess every day in the morning and evening.

The very famous place to celebrate the Navratri festival is Gujrat and Bengal state of India.

The Gujrat state of India is the very popular palace to celebrate the Navratri festival. Here people pay the Garba (Dandiya ) the folk dance of Gujrat. On these days girls dress themselves in the colourful Ghagra and Cholis and boys in the beautiful Kurta and Pajamas. Garba is danced in circular structure around a centrally lit lamp or picture and a statue of Goddess Durga. Garba is also a spiritual dance because people tend to feel divinity while dancing.

The West Bengal also the very famous place to celebrate the Navratri festival, on this festival you will find the special Pandals are set up in various places of the state, where the Goddess Durga is worshipped. Every Pandals are beautifully decorated according with different styles or themes. In the West Bengal on the last day of Navratri, the idols that are placed in the Pandals are taken for a procession with people playing colors and dance after that the idols are immersed in the river.
